Frame Stiffening Modification by Ken Wiljanen

My bike used to exhibit headshake during track days, while cornering at high speed combined with rapid changes of direction. This modification has eliminated that behaviour.

Several of us have done this modification. I had tabs welded to the frame adjacent to where the sub frame mounts, near the headstock and  I had a "vee" fabricated from steel tubing that replaces the aluminum strut, and it has an additional arm that runs up to the new tab The new piece uses the same mounting points as the strut.  The holes that the bolts pass thru are very tight, just a few thousandths of an inch clearance, to ensure a good bolted joint.
