International European 'Fant Meeting
Where & When?Friday 20th June - Sunday 21st June. The area is Chianti 26kms from Siena and 96 kms from Florence in the Tuscany region of Italy. The camp site Le-Soline is the small village of Cascian di Murlo. If you click on the link you will see that there is a cool pool as well as luxury facilities, "Elefant Rider's Heaven". Prices?A special price has been negotiated by James Mannucci and his team. The fee will be 9.50 Euro per day which includes 1 tent 1 elefant (the metal kind) and 1 person. Pre-Booking is not essential but James would appreciate a quick email to let him know that you are coming and how many. Who's Coming?There is a list below of the riders who have already signalled their intention to come. If you would like to email me I will add your details. Please contact any of the riders in your area to see if their is perhaps a common route for you to ride together, remember 'fants go around in herds. The names have an email link attached for your convenience. There will also be a list here of those riders who have emailed me their intention of going to the event. This will enable you to perhaps meet up and ride together part of the way.
Leaving Surrey collection point and then travelling to Dover - early morning 18th June traveling on the E40 passing through Gent , Brussels - ring road staying on the E40, Liege E40, Aachen E40, outside Koln change to the A61 going South , past Koblenz to Speyer. Overnight in Speyer and continue south .........? For those of you who are coming from the UK the ferry fares from Harwich to Hook of Holland or Dover to Calais differ by about £9. The journey time on the ferry is about 4hrs to Harwich and 1:30 hs to Calais. I can put up anybody who would like to overnight in Surrey (about 1:15mins from Dover) so that you can meet the early ferry fresh as daisy. I have had a quote, using a 30% discount code which is still valid when we ride, of £109 return from Dover - Calais travelling non-peak hours, i.e. before 7:00 am and return after 21:00. This is only one route of many but it gives many points along the way for our northern Europe riders to meet up.
