Fitting the Hepco & Becker Engine barsA recent email from Donald La Vigne prompted this article. Fuel Tank and Engine Guard Cagiva Elefant 750/900 Part number 501.702 Installation instructions Rear end LHS & RHS (A) Disassemble rear engine mounting bolt and aluminum spacer. The mounting bracket (L-shape) of the engine guard will be mounted from the outside to the inner side (frame, spacer, EG, engine housing). Replace the OE aluminum spacer with the ones from the kit. Parts: 1 x aluminum spacer 25 x 10,5 x 21,5 mm 1 x aluminum spacer 25 x 10,5 x 16,5 mm LHS front lower (B): For assembly please use: 1 x rectangular clamp shell M8 2 x washer d 8,4 mm 2 x stiff nuts M8 The rectangular clamp shell has to be mounted to the frame from the outside to the inside.
RHS front lower: Remove both fixing screws from the footbrake cylinder. Connect the mounting bracket (flat shape) of the engine guard from the outside of the frame with 2 x INBUS screws (Hexagon inr head?) M6 x 30 with the brake cylinder.
Front upper LHS and RHS (C): Connect the front upr fixing brackets of the engine guard (below the oil cooler) with the flat metal bracket. The assembly should be done with 2 x Hexagon screws M8 x 25 4 x washer d 8,4 mm 2 x stiff nuts M8 After installation please make sure that all connections have been fixed properly Well now you have the translated instructions thanks to Donald & Ralph.
